Elevating the Learning Experience
I have spent the last decade working across the full landscape of New York City education, from competitive test prep (SHSAT) to Waldorf education. My experience includes teaching Math and Science in underserved high schools, serving as a Learning Specialist, and working as a private educator for families with complex, high-level academic needs.
This background has given me a 360-degree view of how students learn- and where the traditional system often falls short. What I’ve seen firsthand is that the most effective learning happens in the space between: small-group environments that allow for a natural pace, whether a student needs to move faster or go deeper to achieve mastery.
Through my work with the homeschool community, I’ve moved away from the "one-size-fits-all" model in favor of a more flexible, collaborative approach. I don’t believe in learning for a test; I believe in fostering the kind of creative, real-world problem solving that builds true academic independence. I am thrilled to bring this experience to our local community, providing the expert scaffolding students need to move from academic resistance to confident ownership of their work.
Specialized Learning Formats
I believe education is most powerful when the environment matches the goal. My practice is built on two distinct ways of supporting your child’s growth:
-
Small Group Math Instruction: I specialize in making difficult math concepts click through engaging, small-group sessions. Group learning allows students to solve problems collaboratively, hear different perspectives, and see that they aren't alone in their challenges—all while receiving the high-level expertise needed to enrich your family's curriculum.
-
1-on-1 Executive Function Coaching: I work individually with students to move beyond the daily struggle of "getting started." Together, we build practical, personal habits for organization, time management, and focus—the tools they need to actually take charge of their own school day.
-
A Personalized Perspective: My background as a Learning Support Specialist means I’m used to thinking outside the box. Whether in a group setting or one-on-one, I focus on how your child naturally learns, leaning into their strengths to make our sessions something they actually look forward to.
A Professional Ally for Your Family
I know how much heart you put into your child’s education, and I don't take it lightly when a family invites me into that space. I’m not here to just deliver a lesson and leave; I’m here to be a steady, reliable resource for you and a champion for your student. Because it is just me, you can count on total consistency and a teacher who truly knows and cares about your child’s progress. I’m here to take the pressure off the "hard parts" of the school day so you can get back to enjoying the journey with your family.
"Education is not just about the information we share, but the confidence we build. My goal is to give every student the tools to be the architect of their own success."
